The Road spike is a retractable spike tire deflating device designed to quickly and safely end high speed pursuits.
A portable retractable spike tire deflating system that is easily deployed by an officer rolling the unit onto a road surface. It can lie in traffic with its spikes retracted without obstructing the normal flow of traffic.
When the target vehicle approaches, the operator raises the tire deflating spikes from a concealed remote location and safely terminates the pursuit. Only the target vehicle's tires are deflated at a controlled rate and the remaining spikes are immediately retracted to prevent unintentional spiking of other vehicle tires.

In addition to our Road Blade tire shredders, a bi-directional tire shredding system, we offer a directional spike system. Our directional tire spikes, also known as one way tire treadles, are used to control the flow of traffic in a single direction. In other words, vehicles may enter, but not exit.
Surface Mount Application
The directional spike system is used to control traffic in one direction. Vehicle may enter, but not exit without severe tire damage. Spring loaded spikes remain up and easily go down when vehicles pass over the system in the correct direction; however, if passing over it in the opposite (incorrect) direction, all tires will be sliced.

Flush Mount Application
The flush mount directional spike system offers the same features as the surface mount; however, it is designed to sit flush with the road surface. This system is ideal for permanent installations.
